Washing tableware

As I walked past the kitchen Monday evening there came the sounds of disco and the clash of silverware, so I stopped in. The durables project was having a late night party to wash the Fair owned flatware before packing it away for next year.

The forks and spoons come in in buckets that get dumped onto a tray to be sorted. Once sorted and aligned they are put in a container to run through the dishwasher.

At the same time the buckets are washed and put through the dishwasher to sterilize them.

When the tableware gets through the dishwasher they are shaken to get the water off then let sit to cool and packed into buckets for storage (with some silica jell packs.)

The video shows all the steps of the process, including several cycles of the dishwasher.

Many thanks to the crew who immediately do this after the Fair.
