Vision Action Committee

I just finished a Vision Action Committee meeting. This is a new committee charged with keeping the Goals, established through the Vision Quest and adopted by the Board of Directors.

There are 9 goals and lots of ideas how to support them, many of which we are moving forward on already. The Committee's first job is to prepare a report for the annual meeting. Look for that report October 17th.

I attended the meeting via conference call, something I am still getting used to. I prefer to go to meetings in person but I was down to Eugene last Monday and back this Sunday for three more meetings.

At the moment we are cataloging the various projects currently being done that support one or more of the Goals. We are planning on having a simple summation in the report.

The Vision Action Committee will also help facilitate proposals developed by members through the intricacies of the Fair. However at the moment we are concentrating getting the report out.

VAC is currently looking for committee members, we talked about recruiting more members. It is planned to be between 10 to 12 members. We hope the committee applicants and members will develop a passion about one of the goals and specialize in how to help the fair facilitate its accomplishment. It is also a working committee and members are expected to participate.

I just looked at the Request for Proposals on development of a new web site that Marcus just announed. This proposal will bring us into the modern internet age with a (hopefully) full set of tools for meeting collaboration. More on this later, I haven't finished reading the proposal.

We have currently been using Google Docs for working within the committee on the same document. After all we have a report to get out at the annual meeting.
